Every church in every city and village, from the south to the north, is celebrating the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in the land of the cedars 🌲🇱🇧 As families gather, fireworks light up the skies, traditional dishes and sweets are prepared, the people are happy celebrating and honoring their blessed mother 🙏✝️ 📍Videos are taken from Deir El Ahmar, a village in the Baalbek District of the Beqaa Governorate in Lebanon. The Feast of the Assumption, celebrated on August 15, is one of the most important Marian feasts in the church. It commemorates the belief that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was taken up body and soul into heaven at the end of her earthly life. This event is seen as a sign of God’s special grace toward her and a promise of the eternal life that awaits all who follow Christ.
